Summer Program
The 2012 Wasatch Academy Summer Session prepares students academically and socially for the traditional school year. The six-week session allows students the opportunity to accelerate their education, participate in extensive recreational activities, and transition to our boarding experience. Students begin classes at 9 a.m. with three academic classes. Recreation begins at 3 p.m. and continues until dinner. We offer evening study hall in the dorms or structured study hall with a faculty member.
The 2012 Summer Session begins on June 24 and concludes on August 4. Students who complete the six week session receive a $2,000 credit towards enrollment in the 2012-2013 academic year.
Academics: Students may earn up to two credits toward high school graduation. Half a credit is offered in each of the following: Mathematics, English, Spanish, History, SAT Preparation, TOEFL Preparation, and Physical Education.
ESL Program: Summer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes offered include Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking for English credit toward high school graduation. Wasatch Academy ESL levels include courses for Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced learners.
Additionally: Our state-of-the-art Center for Evolving Technologies is bursting with creatvity with robotics, filmmaking, music production, and computer game design the classrooms. Our renovated Perforing Arts Center has housed countless noteworthy productions from Shakespeare to Jazz Ensembles and, our new Equestrian Facility is racing and jumping with both both English and Western disciplines.
