St. John's-Ravenscourt School

http://www.sjr.mb.ca

Established in 1820, St. John’s-Ravenscourt School has a strong history of academic excellence. Located on a picturesque river front campus in Winnipeg, the geographic center of Canada, SJR offers students a caring atmosphere that fosters individual potential. SJR is one of Canada’s top independent university preparatory day and boarding schools. The School's co-educational program admits students from Kindergarten through to Grade 12 and promotes a strong work ethic among students in preparation for postsecondary success. The senior-level curriculum exceeds Manitoba's provincial standards. Advanced placement (AP) courses allow students to pursue university level studies in biology, calculus, chemistry, European history, physics and French.

Core academic courses are combined with modern technology, and computer skills are taught throughout all levels. Class sizes average 20 students, ensuring personalized learning and individual attention when needed.

SJR's academic excellence is evident in various student achievements. In the past 10 years over 70.8 per cent of SJR graduates, on average, were offered university entrance scholarships or awards, totalling over $8.5 million. The School has produced 18 Rhodes Scholars, three International Math Olympiad champions and, in the last 21 years, 11 Individual World Champions in Debating – Canada’s leading school in Debating and Public Speaking.
