The Orme School of Arizona
The Orme School is a traditional yet unique college preparatory boarding and day school located in Central Arizona. The Orme School’s values of tradition, excellence, and character have been an integral part of Southwestern education since the school’s founding in 1929. Graduates of Orme enjoy a 100% acceptance rate to colleges and universities. Our student body is representative of more than 25 states and 12 foreign countries. We offer traditional college preparatory courses, as well as an Honors and Advanced Placement curriculum. Perhaps most appealing is our average classroom size of 12 students. Among our greatest strengths are the horsemanship and sports programs. We offer both Western and English riding, with over 100 miles of trails to ride, rodeo, hunter-jumper, dressage, and gymkhana programs are also included. Orme is a strong competitor for state championships in football, volleyball, basketball, and track. We offer a wide range of activities, including an outstanding outdoor leadership program, mountain biking, yearbook, and drama.
Many things set Orme apart from the average boarding school. At Orme, students live in ranch-style dormitories, can hike or ride horses to nearby mesas, and are able to interact with a vibrant and talented faculty, 90% of whom reside on campus, and the majority of whom have graduate degrees. Each February, we offer a Fine Arts Festival, during which nationally recognized artists help students work on weeklong projects in the visual and performing arts. Our Caravan program has been a part of our curriculum since the school’s founding in 1929. Students embark on a weeklong adventure learning experience led by talented faculty guides.
